Admission policies, in the school's words

Admission policies and information for 2026-2027 Admissions Cycle We know that some undergraduate institutions have changed academic courses to a pass/fail or pass/fail option and in the process have made laboratory components of those courses on-line. Although we have not previously accepted pre-requisite medical school courses taken on-line or pass/fail, we will allow both pass/fail grades and on-line courses for pre-requisites. As we conduct complete holistic review of applications, we encourage you to submit your AMCAS application if all other elements of your application are complete while you wait for your MCAT score to be available. Our application deadline is November 15th, and our secondary application deadline is December 15th. Selection Criteria: Cooper Medical School of Rowan University (CMSRU) seeks students who demonstrate academic readiness, who resonate with our mission, and who possess the special personal attributes required of physicians. More specifically, we are committed to selecting students who demonstrate a record of academic excellence, the potential to deliver competent and compassionate care, a passion for lifelong learning, intellectual curiosity, personal and professional integrity and ethical conduct, tolerance and community-oriented service. Student selection is based on a holistic review of a candidate’s application and is not influenced by political or financial factors. To be eligible for admission, an applicant must be a citizen or permanent resident of the United States of America. All applicants are required to complete a bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university in the United States or Canada prior to enrollment in the MD Program. CMSRU welcomes applicants with a wide-range of academic interests. All majors are welcome to apply to CMSRU, as long as minimum academic requirements are met. CMSRU is seeking to recruit a student body that will add value to our school and contribute to the education of all students.
